I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 15 that I purchased more than two years ago. It came with Windows 7 that I updated to Windows 10 during the free update period. Ever since that update the startup procedure has been odd. I can live with it but it is annoying. After shut down, using the shutdown command, I have to hold the physical power button down about 10 seconds, release it and depress it again to turn on the computer. If I put the computer into sleep mode, again with the software sleep button, I then have to hold the physical power button down for several seconds until the power light comes on and then goes off apparently indicating a hard shut down. I have another Dell that I upgraded to Windows 10 at the same time and it works as expected, i.e. push the power button and the computer starts. It appears to me that the computer may not be powering off when I push the off button (software, not physical button) but may be in sleep mode because the current screens are saved. As I said, I can live with the problem but would love to figure out what is going on. I have set and reset the power options.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
